When come to this year's Superbowl there is many questions like will Colt's defensive end Dwight Freeney play? Will Saint's quarterback Drew Brees be able to out duel his counterpart Payton Manning? The most important question asked is simply, who will win? The answer is just as simple, the Colts.
The Indianapolis Colts play the New Orleans Saints in Superbowl. The Colts come in to the game with the best record in the league at 14 -2. Their offense is one of the best in the league. The Colts passing game ranks second (282.2) while The Saints passing defense is ranked 26th giving up 235.6 yards a game. While the Saints boosts one of the leagues best running games, with Manning throwing for 4500 yards, second in the NFL, and Brees not far behind with 4388 yards on the season, one would think the ball will be tossed around a lot more than ran.
This will be the Colts second trip to the Superbowl in four years. The trip prior to this one resulted in a Colts win with Payton Manning winning the game's MVP award. Experience plays a huge part in the Superbowl experience because it is more than just the game itself. The players have to do what they call "Media Day". On Media Day the players field hundred of questions from reporters. Knowing how to deal with the reporters and their questions is a plus. Even though they have a new head coach in Jim Caldwell, he is not a new face, he was their defensive coordinator last season. The Colts are also have many of the players that played in their last appearance in the big game. For the Saints, this will be the organization's first Superbowl appearance in franchise history. Many of the players will be playing in the Superbowl for the first time so the excitement could effect their proformance.
With both team having explosive offenses, it will come down to who will the game inside the game, Manning vs. Brees. Manning is this season's MVP. The only four time winner of the award. He has the intangilbles that make him one of the greatest quaterbacks to ever play. Manning has the ability to call every play from the line of scrimmage, making it hard for the defense to adapt to the plays. Brees is becoming a great quaterback but he does far less for his offense. Manning who has been sacked 10 times, copared to Brees' 20 knows how to get rid of the ball and not take the sack.
What it boils down to is who will make the most out of the other team's misfortune. Who ever capitalizes the most will win. Everything starts with the play of the quaterback, and with Manning being one of the best the game has ever offered, my money is on the Colts.
